I recently went back to Rhode Island to attend the Symposium on the Historical Roots of Media Literacy. As a graduate student, attending such an event was very rewarding for me because it reminded me to appreciate all the great work that has been done so far. It also gave me insight on the importance of building off prior work to make the strongest steps forward. I’m so lucky I was able to listen to so many groundbreaking figures speak of their work in the field of media literacy thus far.

The event also has its own website if you’d like to learn more about all that it had to offer: http://historyofml.wordpress.com
