Personal Journey
Beyond the traditional resume entries, I draw from my eclectic life experiences traveling, living abroad, training horses, and working with diverse populations to inform the work I do.
I was given the Loreen Arbus Scholarship for my senior capstone film Expressions of Hope at the Academy of Motion Arts & Sciences College Television Awards. My initial experiences serving as a creative producer still inform my project management and marketing approaches.
Through teaching and researching alternative education programs for at-risk adolescents, I became an innovative, empathetic educator able to design engaging learner-centered experiences and respond quickly to unexpected circumstances. I also oversaw the planning, branding, messaging, and creation of the new Harrington School of Communication & Media website at URI.
I attended SUNY University at Buffalo in NY and designed my own Media Education master’s program that incorporated many PhD courses. I also held a graduated assistantship helping faculty use technology in their classrooms to fund my studies.
I documented the impact of a grant-funded project to improve under-resourced schools through tech integration. While upholding the role at Columbia College, I taught at Roosevelt University as an adjunct instructor.
I designed and led an Erasmus course on media and identity at Charles University while also serving as the Director of Operations for a remote marketing and PR firm. On my free time, I solo traveled around Europe most weekends.
After many long hours teaching and developing the US startup, I took a break and spent a month on an Eco farm in Croatia training horses through natural horsemanship while learning about local culture. I’ve trained horses throughout the US and Europe along with five Guiding Eyes for the Blind dogs.
I played a critical role strengthening the internal processes and elevating the external presence of a media literacy organization I’d been involved with for several years, increasing sales, revenue, and customer engagement.
I initially intended on traveling for awhile, but abruptly changed plans in Spain amidst closing border announcements. Instead, I grounded in Portugal for two years and trained horses while doing web design and marketing for US clients. While living on a beach just north of Lisbon, I learned how to surf and speak “um pouco de português.”
I relocated to Florida to support my grandparents and be closer to family. Professionally, I joined a startup in the cannabis sector and collaborated with senior leadership to help them navigate a company reorganization. I built supporting marketing funnels and internal project management structures for stronger client / employee engagement.
